Review: 'Roman Polanski: Wanted and Desired'

Documentary on the famous film director's conviction in LA 30 years ago delves as much into the legal system as Polanski's psyche.

Marina Zenovich's documentary centers on the famous film director's public conviction in Los Angeles 30 years ago for unlawful sexual intercourse with a minor. (He subsequently fled the country.) As an anatomy not only of Polanski's psyche but also of the legal system he confronted, it's as baroquely compelling as "The Dark Knight." Grade: A- (Unrated.)
